Plant Accountant
Summary DescriptionThe function of this position is to provide daily administration of the manufacturing facility's accounting and finance activities, providing support with financial statement preparation and financial analysis, as well as continuous improvement of the accounting function.
The Plant Accountant provides timely and accurate accounting and finance services while complying with all legislative and corporate requirements, ensures an adequate system of internal control is maintained, general ledger accounts are correctly stated and classified, and that financial reporting is prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), where applicable.

Performs work in a safe manner; promotes and fosters a safe work environment.
Maintains and reconciles general ledger accounts on a recurring basis, including posting monthly journal entries and completing account reconciliations.
Conducts the month and year end closing process.
Provides monthly production variance analysis and investigates discrepancies.
Prepares analytical reports as part of the executive monthly reporting package.
Provides weekly/monthly spending reports for plant personnel.
Ensures GAAP is incorporated into the management of the business.
Reports on IFRS basis where applicable.
Oversees plant inventories and supports stock provision calculations.
Reviews and approves accounts payable payment runs on a weekly basis.
Develops the Plant budget.
Provides cost accounting expertise for the manufacturing operations.
Preparation, review, and update product standard cost in SAP.
Monitors and analyses manufacturing overhead absorption models, labor models and energy models on a regular basis.
Works closely with manufacturing operations to ensure accurate and timely capture of all production costs and effective analysis of production variances.
Develops and maintains thorough financial procedures and systems in accordance with Kingspan Group accounting manual.
Ensures appropriate internal controls are in place and supports effective and efficient financial audits.
Assists the Finance team in developing more effective workflow processes.
